When fattening turkeys, high-protein feeds are important to produce low-fat carcasses. Turkeys have very high amino acid requirements. Therefore, an optimised amino acid composition in the feed mixture is important for high daily weight gain, optimum feed conversion and high meat yield. During the fattening process of turkeys, the crude protein requirement of the feed decreases, but the energy requirement increases due to increased maintenance requirements. Adding NSP enzymes to fattening products helps break down carbohydrates that cannot be utilised by the poultry, resulting in improved feed conversion and digestibility.
